The Great Canadian Cheese Festival May 24, 2012

Hi!  I just found one of the best trips ever!   If you have nothing to do next week-end you should check out the International Cheese Festival.   It is held on Prince Edward Island in Canada from  June 1-3.  Go to and check out the details! Speaking of cheese, my current favorites are….  Lambchopper, a very mild, buttery  sheeps’ milk creation.  If you don’t like sheeps’ milk you should re-think that and give this one  a  try!  Etorki, is a sheep’s milk French basque cheese.  I love it straight up on crackers, flat breads , or rosemary flavored crostinis.  Try some – I’d love to hear what you think of them!

Welcome to my blog, and welcome to Strawberry Season!!  I love Strawberry Season.  We are  growing some strawberries on our farm, although, some little rabbit friends are really enjoying them!   For this Strawberry Season, we have some tasty, fun recipes.  I would suggest getting a few boxes of fresh strawberries, because we are going to have a Strawberry Extravaganza!!!!  Buon Appetito!


Strawberry Rhubarb Sauce (serves 6-8)

What you will need:

2 stalks rhubarb, washed and chopped

1 pint fresh strawberries, washed and chopped (include green tops for extra vitamins)

1 T all natural cane sugar

3 T water


Combine all ingredients in a sauce pot.

Bring to a boil.

Reduce heat and simmer for about 20 min., stirring occasionally.

Let the sauce cool.

Use as a topping for your favorite Vanilla Bean ice cream!
